ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It's our first look at the terror inside an Albuquerque company as an ex-employee went on a shooting spree. The rampage left three people dead; including the gunman.
After putting in a public records request New 13 was given hours of video on multiple tapes; a handful of those images show the horror of that day at Emcore.
The surveillance is frame by frame, but it's clear workers are running for their lives. Some already on their cell phones relaying what's happening inside Emcore; the computer technology giant on Eubank near the base. Some of the workers don't seem to know why they are being herded out of their work areas that July day last year.
Robert Reza, in a rage, came to the company to kill his ex-girlfriend; who he was in a bitter custody battle with. Co-workers said he went right for Adriane Basciano who was taking a break outside.
Reza, who worked at Emcore at one time, then stormed the building and searched out co-workers who had helped Basciano in the past; killing two of them.
The video shows some workers who have now armed themselves roaming the halls, waiting for police. Cops were there within minutes. Officers on foot and horseback direct workers out of the building on the video.
Robert Reza killed himself when he saw the cops closing in.
Out of the hours of videotape, News 13 did not see any of Reza or any of the victims he shot, it's not clear if Albuquerque Police edited those portions out.
Reza's ex-girlfriend survived the shooting. Emcore put up a permanent memorial to the victims.
