ALBUQUERQUE (kRQE) - The race schedule at the Albuquerque Downs will not be quite as full this year.
Downs officials have decided to cut six major races from the fall schedule.
That is because of smaller casino revenues and a sharp decline in live betting.
According to the racino's racing manager, the downward trend began back in July.
Two of the cancelled races were supposed to be held this weekend during the New Mexico State Fair.
The New Mexico Racing Commission approved the cuts Thursday.
