ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An overnight fire in an abandoned home had almost 20 people evacuated from their own homes for safety concerns.

The home is located near Vineyard Road and Edith Boulevard in Northeast Albuquerque.

Firefighters say the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  They also say that smoke and flames were heavy at one point with the fire reaching at least 20 feet high.

Traffic was shut down on Edith for a short while, but it was later reopened.

Firefighters say it appears that the fire was human caused.

There were no reported injuries with the fire.
