ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Governor Susana Martinez declared Friday a statewide day of mourning for the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.

An interfaith memorial service was held in Downtown Santa Fe Friday.  The event was organized by the county, city and the Santa Fe school district to honor those 26 victims.

A poster at the front has the pictures, ages and names of the 20 children and six adult victims who were tragically killed one week ago Friday.

Twenty-six balloons are set to be released at the end of that memorial service.

The mixed group of people at the memorial say they wanted to come together as a community to grieve and honor those victims.

The Santa Fe School District Superintendent will read all of the victims names before the bells at St. Francis Cathedral ring 26 times in honor of those lives lost.

There will be a balloon glow to honor the victims later Friday evening at Balloon Fiesta Park.
