Los Alamos boy hit by truck dies

(AP) - A 12-year-old Los Alamos boy has died from injuries he received after he was hit by a truck Wednesday.

Logan Collins was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque where he died.

Los Alamos police say a Chevy Avalanche truck hit the boy as he was exiting a city bus.

Police say the driver has not been charged. The investigation continues.

A memorial was set up Thursday at the crosswalk where the accident happened, not far from Los Alamos Middle School, which the 7th grader attended.

A public memorial service for Logan Collins is set for 2 p.m.Monday at the Los Alamos Middle School Gymnasium. A private funeral will follow.
