BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) - One man was killed in a rollover crash Tuesday morning in the East Mountains southeast of Albuquerque.

A Bernalillo County sheriff's deputy discovered the wreckage on the west side of Highway 217 just after midnight, according to sheriff's department spokesperson Erin Kinnard Thompson.

The deputy found a man and woman ejected from the vehicle, later identified as Thomas Spurlin, 49, and Darla Bregar, 40.

Spurlin died as a medical helicopter arrived at the scene. Bregar, who suffered minor injuries, was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Deputies determined Bregar was driving the vehicle, and have obtained a warrant to test her blood.
