ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and run over by another vehicle early Tuesday morning, killing him, and Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies are looking for a truck they believe caused the accident.

According to Erin Kinnard Thompson, spokesperson for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, the motorcyclist was traveling east on Paseo del Norte approaching the Rio Grande around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when a truck braked, causing the motorcyclist to lose control.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and was run over by a black vehicle, killing him. The driver of the other vehicle stopped.

Deputies said the motorcyclist and the driver of the black vehicle had no signs of alcohol or drug use.

Deputies are searching for the truck that braked. It's described as an orange or rust-colored 1970s or 1980s Chevrolet truck. Anybody with information on that truck is asked to call Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.

The motorcyclist's name had not been released while deputies worked to notify his family.

Late Tuesday as spokesperson for the sheriff's department identified the victim as Phillip Precord, 47.  The truck and driver involved in the crash have not been located.

The crash prompted deputies to close eastbound Paseo del Norte until about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
