ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The office of the medical investigator has not been able to identify the four bodies pulled from Cochiti Lake last week because they can't find dental records to compare the human remains to.

The car found is registered to Richard Sanchez. Sanchez and his three sons have been missing since 2001 when he picked them up for a custody visit.

OMI doctors said the remains found in the car can quickly be identified through dental records, but they need those records first.

"The problem with finding dental records 5, 6,7,8, years down the road, it's difficult records may have been destroyed or lost," Dr. Peter Loomis said.

The office is now asking dentists to search their archives for dental records on the Sanchez family.

They said it will take hours to determine if the bodies are those of the Sanchez family once they locate and compare the records.
