ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Nobody was hurt Tuesday morning when a car plowed into an Albuquerque thrift store.
According to Dorothee Otero with the Barrett House Attic, the driver, about 87 years old, was confused about what happened when he got out of the car.
The crash happened about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Photos provided by KRQE viewer Steven Donahue showed the car had gone well inside the building.
Otero said the crash caused a lot of damage to the structure, and the store will have to remain closed for at least a week.
The thrift store raises money for the Barrett House, an emergency shelter for women and children. Donations have been low, Otero said, so the store was the shelter's only source of income.
