ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - City residents and relatives of a boy whose mother is accused of suffocating him and burying his body in an Albuquerque playground remembered the "silly, happy little guy" at a memorial Tuesday.

The service at Calvary Chapel for 3-year-old Ty Toribio was attended by hundreds of people, including Mayor Martin Chavez, Police Chief Ray Schultz and Zia Pueblo Gov. Ivan Pino.

The boy's aunt, Emily Apodaca, recalled the time he wore a soda can box on his head for 30 minutes.

Senior Pastor Skip Heitzig said mourners should stop worrying about questions surrounding Ty's death and focus on what they know — that the boy is in heaven.

Pino told mourners to pray for his mother, Tiffany Toribio, who faces first-degree murder and other charges in the boy's May 13 death.
