Kirtland names street after fallen airman

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (KRQE) - The 377th Air base Wing dedicated a street Tuesday to a Kirtland airman killed in combat.
The base is renaming M Street to Griffin Avenue in honor of Staff Sargeant Travis Griffin, who killed in action in 2008 in Iraq.
Griffin was helping train Iraqi forces when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb.
His awards include a bronze star, a purple heart, the air force combat medal and now a street bearing his name.
