ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A woman who may have fallen 150 feet was rescued from below Sandia Crest early Saturday morning.

The woman's name and the extent of her injuries have not been released although she is believed to have broken bones.

First reports of the woman being missing came in around 5:15 p.m., according to Capt. Matt Thomas of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.  Deputies located her 150 feet below Sandia Crest at about 9:30 p.m., he said.

A search-and-rescue team reached the woman around midnight, and she was evacuated by 3 a.m. with the aid of a New Mexico National Guard helicopter, Thomas said.

Deputies also said it's possible the woman fell from the Crest or somewhere nearby although that has not been confirmed.
