Garage door blows off in blaze

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Fireworks may have had something to do with a blaze that blew the garage door off a Southwest Albuquerque home.

Just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, a house on Desert Breeze, near Unser and Gibson boulevards, neighbors said they heard a loud blast and smelled fireworks.

Firefighters were able to save the house, and no one was hurt.

The homeowners said there were some small firecrackers in the garage, but they believe propane tanks actually caused the explosion.
