ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The pilot of a powered paraglider suffered a leg injury Wednesday afternoon during a hard landing west of Albuquerque, the Bernalillo County Fire Department reports.
The incident happened near a commercial paragliding site north of Intersate 40 near the Rio Puerco.
The pilot, whose name has not been released, injured his knee, according to the fire department. The injury is not believed to be serious.
Paragliders are essential inflatable parachutes that allow pilots either to fly air currents like glider aircraft or ride a seat frame that includes a small motor and propeller.
