ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - State police say a father and son were among the three people killed Wednesday when a semi truck drove into oncoming traffic on Interstate 40.

It happened around 6 a.m. east of Grants.

A Covenant semi truck was traveling eastbound when it drove into westbound lanes sideswiping one semi and then hitting an Enterprise truck head on.

The three people inside were 27-year-old Devin Marine from Arizona, 21-year-old Branden Macurio of California and his father 47-year-old Ricky Macurio.

Investigators say alcohol was not a factor on the part of the semi truck driver but they are still trying to determine why he lost control.
