ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A woman is dead after getting hit by someone backing out of a driveway in Albuquerque Monday morning.
This happened about 9:20 a.m. on Wellesley near Constitution.
Police say the driver told them she heard a "thud”, then got out and found an elderly woman lying in the street.
They say it was Loretta Wagy, 71, she was rushed to the hospital and died.
Police say Wagy often walks the neighborhood everyday.
She's legally blind and deaf and uses a small baby stroller as a walker.
Police are still investigating to see if the driver will face any charges.
