Couples, baby make the most of 12-12-12

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It’s a once-in-a-century day: 12-12-12.

People around Albuquerque decided to seize the day by making the most of the 12 trifecta.

The Celebration of Love drive-through chapel was busy throughout the day with couples who wanted their wedding date to be lucky – or easy to remember.

"We did pick it because we thought it would be unique - well, maybe not unique because many people are doing it as well,” said bride Carla Sedillo.

Another couple, the newly-minted Mr. and Mrs. Pearson, insist the wedding date is a fluke.

“It was by accident; it was the first day I had off,” said bride Whitney Pearson. “I work a lot of hours.  I happened to get it off so we decided to schedule it."

“It adds to the greatness of it, I guess,” added the groom, Bradley Pearson.

12-12-12 is not only once-in-a-century; it’s once in a lifetime.

New Mexico newborn Cayvin New decided to start his new life with the triple-digit day, as one of the first 12-12-12 babies in the entire state.

"His due date's actually January 6,” said mother Heather New, who gave birth at Lovelace Women’s Hospital. “So he came a bit early and decided he wanted to be the 12-12-12 baby."
