ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The president of Albuquerque’s city council says the city's police chief should go.

According to the Albuquerque Journal , Council President Dan Lewis says it's time for a change at the top of the police department.

He says APD’s reputation has been tarnished by all the cases of excessive force allegations and now the federal investigation happening as a result.

The article states Police Chief Ray Schultz responded by saying he's proud of the work done by his officers and that he'll continue to work hard for Albuquerque residents.
