ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - When Kim Aragon-Nunez and Janice Flores died on Tuesday, the office where they worked were immediately closed. Losing the two women has left a community grieving.

It is a solemn day at the Women Infant and Children program's First Choice Community Healthcare offices where Aragon-Nunez and Flores wrked. Co-workers places flowers outside Flores' office in the South Valley. Many were too grief-stricken to return to work, so the state sent relief workers.

Flowers continued arriving from other agencies. Stunned co-workers said they will miss Flores' vivacious laugh, her infectious smile and her talent.

"Janice was the sole breadwinner for her household," said Melissa Manlove, a former co-worker. "Two small children and parents who depended on her."

A candle flickers in Aragon-Nunez's office at the Griegos Center in the North Valley. She was regional manager for four WIC offices. A big personality in a tiny frame. She was always in high heels.

"My office is right across from hers and I would hear her little feet walk in and her yell 'Good morning,'" said Emily Sanchez, Aragon-Nunez assistant.

"Her smile, her just being here, I can imagine what her family is going through," said Roseanna Anaya, a co-worker. "Our prayers are with them."

Friday morning, the WIC offices will hold a meeting for employees and counselors will be available to help with the healing.
