2 die in crash near Encino

ENCINO, N.M. (AP) - Two people have died in a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of U.S. 54 and U.S. 60 near Encino.

State police say the crash killed the driver, 27-year-old Vanessa Espinoza, and a passenger, Tabitha Serna.

They were thrown out of the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no one was wearing a seat belt.

The crash occurred just before noon today.

Two passengers were airlifted to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque.
