ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Carlos Fierro, a former high-powered attorney convicted in a deadly hit and run , is being credited for helping to save a man’s life.
Fierro was in a prison van with a prison work crew in Las Cruces Tuesday when a semi almost hit them.
The truck veered off the interstate and finally came to a stop.
The guard and the inmates got out of the van.
It turns out a passerby and Fierro gave the trucker, who was having heart problems, CPR.
Fierro, who has been in the news for breaking the rules behind bars , is due to get out of prison in the next month or so.
