Burrito delivery company taking off in ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Courtney Rich from Albuquerque started a burrito delivery in 2012 and is finding success a hard but rewarding road.

"I've always wanted to own my own business and I decided that since breakfast burritos are so popular here, I couldn't quite understand why there wasn't delivery and so I said, I can do that," says Rich in reference to her company Door to Door Burritos.

For the last six months Courtney says she has been slowly building up a customer base with each burrito she makes.

"It's gotten easier in a sense, but it's exhausting, it's absolutely exhausting," adds Rich. "I always say it rivals the exhaustion of having a new born child with three young children under the age of five."

Of course starting a business from scratch is tricky even in the best of economic times. This is something that has made it more challenging now, but with a little help Courtney's dream is coming true. She and her team prepare the meals in the kitchen of Dawn Sanchez who has her own catering company, Dawn Sanchez Creations.

"We have a great support system here," adds Rich. "Dawn Sanchez has been amazing. I have my fabulous women who are with me everyday and if it wasn't for them, this wouldn't happen, this would not be here."

With a two minimum order, Courtney and her team deliver the hot, made-to-order breakfast item wherever you are within a reasonable radius of their home base. She says it's an idea that's catching on, one order at a time.

"You know, as long as we can sustain the quality of life and be smiling everyday, which we do, we'll be good, we'll be just fine," says Rich.

Courtney also adds when she started the business she was still working as a waitress, she has since quit that job to devote herself full time to her own business.

It's not just burritos that Courtney and her team deliver, but customers can also order a beverage and a cinnamon roll from Dawn Sanchez and her side of the operation.

For more information on the company, they can be found at Door to Door Burritos
