BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) - On Saturday, the Valencia County Hispano Chamber of Commerce attracted thousands to an all you can eat pork bonanza known as a Matanza.
The $10 admission fee charged at the event goes to fund college scholarships for traditional and non-traditional students.
25 teams roasted for 40 pigs on Saturday.
This was 10th time the event was held.
The chamber gives 500 scholarships to 30 deserving students.
To date, more than 150 students have shared $70,000 in scholarship funds raised from the annual pig roast.
