ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - This latest news is the latest bad news for Coach Locksley.

Saturday's homecoming game was close, but still not close enough.

The Lobo football team suffered yet another loss at University Stadium today... where even the most devoted fans are running high on frustration.

The game's crowd was the smallest crowd the stadium has seen since 1992.

16, 313 people were in attendance.

6,000 fans less than last years homecoming game against UTEP.

The game itself was a heartbreak loss and fans are getting after Coach Lockesly more than usual.

Some are saying it's time for him to go and that if the team can't be competitive against division one teams, then it's time to give someone else a shot.

Since becoming Head Coach of the Lobos the team is 2-26.

Now, it seems only the die-hard fans are coming out to the games.

"Lobo Nation has to come together and either figure out what to do with this head coach... we just got beat on both sides of the ball... they scheduled this team purposely for homecoming and obviously we couldn't pull off a win," says a disgruntled fan.

Sam Houston is a Division-1AA school, but they are undefeated and in the top 20.

In the 1992 season, for the Lobos, the team had 3 wins. That's more than this squad's had in these 3 seasons.

They've got New Mexico State next week. a bigger crowd should be expected for the rivalry game.

UNM was listed number one in a list of ESPN's worst performing football teams.
