ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Toys For Tots toy collection campaign is entering it's final weeks. Organizers want to remind qualifying families who wish to receive the gifts that they need to register no later than Tuesday, December 4.
They also add that they've had moderate success so far with this years collection, but they still need more toys to come in to accommodate all the families they anticipate will be signing up for the gifts. At this point, they have about 2,500 families registered with about one to three kids each.
"What I'd like to ask is for everybody to kind of dig deep this year, reach in their pockets," adds United States Marine Corps Major Brian Cillessen with Toys For Tots. "Go to the toy stores bring some toys to us and then volunteer to be part of the distribution as well so that we can be successful."
If you want to donate money to the Toys For Tots campaign, there will be a call center at the Albuquerque Police Department on Thursday, December 6, that is sponsored by KRQE News 13.
After that, the big in-person toy drive will be on Monday, December 10 in the American Home Furnishings parking lot at Carlisle and Menaul. You can drop toys and cash off there all day long.
