ROSWELL, N.M. (KBIM) - The New Mexico Department of Health has confirmed that 13 of the state's residents have died from H1N1 flu, including two teens from the same high school in Roswell.
This weekend a 15-year-old Goddard High School student died of H1N1, and several area students and parents have expressed concern over the virus.
Earlier in October, a 17-year-old female student of Goddard High School died in an Albuquerque hospital.
The student who died over the weekend reportedly had some chronic health problems in addition to the H1N1 virus.
Health officials said they hope to release more information
Tuesday on why H1N1 has hit Chaves County harder than other parts
of the state.
The school district said it's still stressing prevention to
all students, and will not shut down schools unless attendance
rates see a drastic drop.
