Health Dept.: Bus passenger carried TB

SANTA FE (KRQE) - Health officials on Tuesday said a person recently diagnosed with infectious tuberculosis rode a commercial bus line and may have exposed other bus passengers to the disease.

The New Mexico Department of Health said the passenger boarded a northbound El Paso-Los Angeles Limousine Express bus in Albuquerque around noon on Aug. 3 and got off in Greeley, Colo.

The passenger then returned on Aug. 9, leaving Greeley around 9 a.m. and arriving in Albuquerque around 5 p.m.

The bus runs from El Paso, Texas, to Greeley.

Anybody who may have been on the bus at the same time as the infected passenger is asked to call the New Mexico Department of Health at (505) 827-2473, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment at (888) 356-0332 or the El Paso City/County Health office at (915) 771-1230.
