H1N1 cases rise to 46 in New Mexico

SANTA FE (AP) - The New Mexico Department of Health has confirmed two more swine flu cases for a total of 46.

New Mexico also has five probable cases.

The latest confirmed cases were a 4-year-old Curry County girl and a 22-year-old woman in Taos County.

The confirmed and probable cases and the counties in which they occurred: 11 in Hidalgo, eight in Eddy, six each in Bernalillo and Socorro counties, five in Dona Ana, four each in Valencia and Luna, three in Sandoval and one each in Curry, San Juan, Sierra and Taos.

The state says that so far, the illnesses in New Mexico have been mild.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists more than 3,300 confirmed cases in the United States, with three deaths.
