Flashy cars bring in cash for MDA

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Hot rods and cool cars were on display Saturday at Balloon Fiesta Park for the first annual American Mettle Car Show.

More than 100 old fire trucks, police cars, military vehicles, classic cars and hot rods took center stage.

The event was sponsored by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Albuquerque Area Firefighters Union.

Admission was free to the public, but donations benefited the local MDA.

KRQE is the home to the annual MDA telethon which airs every Labor Day.
