DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) - While Colorado voters legalized recreational marijuana Tuesday, lawmakers in Durango don't think people should be allowed to smoke regular cigarettes in some public places.
The City Council passed a resolution making city-owned parks, playgrounds, bus stops and the Animas River Trail smoke-free.
The resolution was pushed by a local coalition.
They believe smoking in public sets a bad example for kids. They want the places where they play to be smoke-free.
