ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Violence against woman is the focus of an all day conference at the University of New Mexico Monday.
It is the second year for the Gray-Torres conference on interpersonal violence, named after a professor and teaching student murdered in October of 2010 by the woman’s ex-boyfriend.
The theme of the event this year is, “It Begins with Me.” The theme is designed to show bystanders how they can intervene in violent situations.
The National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence found a quarter of all college students are victims of sexual assaults or attempts.
