Boil water notice issued in Socorro

SOCORRO, N.M. (KRQE) - E. coli contamination has forced a boil water order for residents in Socorro.

The cause of the contamination is unknown.

The order only affects the Socorro water system, according to the state's environment department.

Residents should boil water for five minutes before drinking, cooking, dishwashing and bathing until further notice.
