Health secretary quits Martinez cabinet

SANTA FE (KRQE) - Catherine Torres, New Mexico's secretary of the Department of Health, is resigning.
Torres has been in the position for 18 months.
The Las Cruces pediatrician says she wants to spend more time with her family after the death of her mother.
Her resignation is effective Oct. 15.
Deputy Secretary Brad McGrath will serve until a replacement is appointed.
