RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - A youth conservation group from Rio Rancho is trail blazing in the bosque.
Today the Youth Conservation Corps added rock to a section of trail they created in the North Loop area.
It now matches the existing North and Willow Creek loops.
It's all an effort to teach people about the environment and the local wildlife.
"We've been working here all summer, building trail and building a classroom like you see here," Joshua McKinney with the Youth Conservation Corps. "Just trying to make it better so kids can come for field trips and things like that."
The city of Rio Rancho received a $56,000 grant from the Youth Conservation Corps to complete the project.
