ELEPHANT BUTTE, N.M. (KRQE) - Although drought and downstream demands have shrunk Elephant Butte Lake and Caballo Reservoir, state parks officials say there's still more than enough water and beach space for Labor Day weekend.

The lakes annually draw tens of thousands of boaters, skiers and campers.

Officials say the Butte's lake elevation will be at 4,312 feet above sea level. That's about 20 feet lower than a year ago.
