DENVER (AP) - A winter storm moving across Colorado has closed some mountain passes and knocked out power in southwestern Colorado.
Up to 3 feet of snow is forecast in the San Juan Mountains in the state's southwest corner. A blizzard warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday for the area, including Telluride and Ouray.
In the Durango area, heavy snow and strong winds closed the Durango-La Plata County airport and knocked out power to an estimated 1,200 customers. About 250 homes and businesses were still without power Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to put up new power lines and poles.
Loveland Pass and La Veta Pass were both closed because of the snow.
