ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A lot of school buses across the state are cleaner thanks to help from the feds.
The Environmental Protection Agency gave the state nearly $1 million to help reduce emissions in diesel engines.
The money has now helped retrofit buses in Bloomfield, Belen, Deming, Farmington and Gallup.
It also helped retrofit public buses in the city of Deming and Taos County.
While Albuquerque and several other cities have emissions standards, diesel engines are exempt.
