STORRIE LAKE, N.M. (AP) - Park rangers are searching Storrie Lake in northern New Mexico for a man who tried to swim to shore from his stranded boat but did not make it.
The lake is closed to boating while the search continues.
Authorities say a park visitor and a ranger rescued a man from the water at the north end of the lake Thursday evening after he had tried to help the man who was trying to swim to shore.
The 45-year-old man did not make it to the shore and is presumed drowned. His name was not immediately released.
