EAGLE NEST, N.M. (AP) - A management plan for Eagle Nest Lake State Park in northern New Mexico includes a history of the park, a review of its resource and facilities and recommendations for improvements and visitor services for the next five years.
The New Mexico State Parks Division has completed the park's first management plan.
The division took over Eagle Nest Lake six years ago, and says it has invested in more than $3 million in improved boat ramps and day use areas, a new campground, picnic shelters and visitor center.
Every state park is required to have a management plan, which is updated every five years.
Officials say they're designed to give direction for the management and development of the park to protect resources and improve opportunities for recreation.
