ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The completion of a missing link makes for a good day for cyclists, walkers and runners in the North Valley

The Alameda Trail is now open after a ribbon cutting Friday morning.

The trail connects the Paseo del Bosque Trail along the Rio Grande and the North Diversion Channel Trail , a major commuter bike route running from Balloon Fiesta Park to the University of New Mexico North Campus.

Now folks can safely travel along Alameda Boulevard between the two trails.
