ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Fire investigators are still trying to nail down the cause of Friday's massive fire that destroyed an Albuquerque apartment complex.

Intense flames took on the Royal Crown Apartments on Friday near Gibson and San Mateo boulevards. Seventy-five people were left homeless.

Four firefighters fell to the units below when the floor gave way beneath them. Two of them suffered minor injuries. The other two firefighters were not hurt.

A resident told KRQE News 13 she saw the fire begin inside the laundry room.

The Albuquerque Fire Department said their investigation could take several more days.
