TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) - An overturned propane tanker has forced the closure of U.S. Highway 64 between Taos and Angel Fire, according to New Mexico State Police.
Propane did not leak from the 18-wheeler, and there was no fire, police reported. However leaking diesel fuel is being cleaned up.
The accident happened about 5:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for the Taos Police Department said the highway likely will be closed all night. The propane must first be removed from the tank trailer before wrecker crews can attempt to right it, she said.
