ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Firefighters battled several fires in southeastern New Mexico on Saturday.

Two fires are burning north of Capitan, N.M. The East Transwestern fire has burned nearly 19,000 acres so far, and the Vista fire has charred about 10,000 acres.

Firefighters are also battling the Fresquez 2 Fire in the Arabella area. That blaze has burned over 5,000 acres.

No structures were threatened in any of the fires.

Officials believe the blazes may have been caused by lightning strikes.
