If you see smoke in the skies this week coming from the general direction of Datil, N.M., there's probably no cause for alarm as the Bureau of Land Management is planning a prescribed burn.
The burn targets 38,000 acres of grass, pinon and juniper woodlands on Pelona Mountain.
Various agencies and private companies are working together to restore the ecosystem and habitat for big game species.
Firefighters will be monitoring the burn which is expected to last six days.
