WILLIAMSBURG, N.M. (KRQE) - Thunder, lightning, hail and flooding hit the Albuquerque metro area and other parts of the state late Friday.

In Silver City streets flooded and at least one store reportedly closed because of the deluge there.

Another strong storm cell hit Williamsburg just south of Truth or Consequences. There heavy rains washed over a state highway leaving plenty of muck behind.

A hailstorm slammed into drivers along Interstate 25 in Valencia County. The rain and hail were so heavy that drivers slowed to a crawl with some using their hazard lights to warn people behind them.

Reported rainfall totals included 1.7 inches in Las Cruces and 1.37 inches in Silver City. And while Albuquerque's official rain gauge at the Sunport tallied only 0.07 inches, one site in the North Valley reported 0.60 inches.
