RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - Rio Rancho High School students are hoping for some money from a teen's favorite shoemaker.
Every year, Vans Custom Culture invites high schools from across the U.S. to compete in a shoe customization contest.
The winning school gets $50,000 prize for its art program.
Rio Rancho High is the only school in New Mexico to qualify.
The team of Ethan Wroten, Cody Kirk and Hannah Mercek will head to California in May for the finals.
