ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The new Albuquerque Public Schools sports stadium continues to stir up a lot of controversy about where to put it.

After two moves and multiple plans, many still are not happy with the project.

However, it looks like the proposed complex is not moving from its current spot just north of I-40 and 98th Street

One homeowner, Tabitha King says the multi-million dollar stadium planned for her backyard will not make a good neighbor.

“If this project isn't executed and planned the right way it's going to affect our neighborhood first but in the end it's going to affect the whole city,” King said.

King, the head of an opposition group, says after negotiations broke down last week, the next step could be a lawsuit.

The group is concerned that property values in the area would drop if the stadium gets built.

An APS board member said they have done everything they can to compromise and they are no longer talking with King's group.
