LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (AP) - Girls in middle school or high school in northern New Mexico will have a chance next month to learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
Los Alamos National Laboratory, its managing contractor and Los Alamos Women in Science are co-sponsoring the Expanding Your Horizons in Math and Science conference in Los Alamos on April 6.
Participants will do hands-on activities in such fields as astronomy, robotics, forensics, chemistry and earth science.
They'll take part in small-group workshops, team-oriented activities and a panel discussion and meet women in science and math-related fields.
The all-day event is now in its 31st year.
