ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Middle and high school students from across the state came together Saturday to put their minds to the test in the state's science, technology, engineering and math competition.
More than 500 students were involved in the competition at UNM.
The competition was a part of the New Mexico mathematics, engineering, science achievement program.
This year’s competition was all about going green and students rotated in different challenges that included engineering, math, and science.
In the engineering competition, students were to build a windmill, and whichever one picked up the most weight won.
The challenges are all standard-based and also of course meet state requirements.
