ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A lot of Albuquerque parents are already thinking about whether they should or shouldn't send their kids to school after Memorial Day.

While kids do have Monday off, on Tuesday school is back in session at Albuquerque Public Schools.

The state Public Education Department denied the district's request for a waiver on making up for missed days in February due to the statewide gas shortage brought on by record cold.

Tuesday will be half a day, and lunch will not be served.
